چکیده

Low Gain Avalanche Diodes (LGADs) is one of the candidate sensing technologies for future 4D-tracking applications and recently have been qualified to be used in ATLAS CMS timing detectors CERN High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider upgrade. LGADs can achieve an excellent performance by presence internal gain that improves signal-to-noise ratio leading a better time resolution. These are designed exhibit moderate with increase reverse bias voltage. The value strongly depends on temperature. Thus, these two values must kept under control experiments maintain within required values. A reduction or temperature will reduce significantly. In this paper, mechanism going presented. It was observed, measured devices charge density projected into layer, generated laser charged particle their bulk. Measurements performed different showed ionizing processes induce more detector bulk lead decrease detector’s gain. conducted IR-laser Sr-90 lab, modifying bulk, confirmed presented here.

An Active Gain-control System for Avalanche Photo-Diodes under Moderate Temperature Variations

Avalanche photodiodes (APDs) are promising light sensor for various fields of experimental physics. It has been argued, however, that variation of APD gain with temperature could be a serious problem preventing APDs from replacing traditional photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) in some applications. Here we develop an active gaincontrol system to keep the APD gain stable under moderate temperature var...

Gain-Bandwidth Characteristics of Thin Avalanche Photodiodes

The frequency-response characteristics of avalanche photodiodes (APDs) with thin multiplication layers are investigated by means of a recurrence technique that incorporates the history dependence of ionization coefficients. In addition, to characterize the autocorrelation function of the impulse response, new recurrence equations are derived and solved using a parallel computer. The mean freque...

An Ultra-Low Power Variable Gain Current Mirror

A power efficient gain adjustment technique is described to realize programmable gain current mirror. The dissipation power changes over the wide gain range of structure are almost negligible. This property is in fact very interesting from power management perspective, especially in analog designs. The simple structure and constant frequency bandwidth are other ever-interesting merits of propos...

Neural Imaging Using Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes

Introduction: This paper analyses the ability of single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) for neural imaging. The current trend in the production of SPADs moves toward the minimumdark count rate (DCR) and maximum photon detection probability (PDP). Moreover, the jitter response which is the main measurement characteristic for the timing uncertainty is progressing. Methods: The neural imaging pro...

All CMOS Low-Power Wide-Gain Range Variable Gain Amplifiers

Two variable gain amplifiers (VGAs) that adopt new approximated exponential equations are proposed in this paper. The dB-linear range of the proposed VGAs is extended more than what the approximated exponential equations predict by a bias circuit technique that adopts negative feedback. The proposed VGAs feature wide gain variation, low-power, high linearity, wide control signal range, and smal...
